The arms of Courtenay are first and fourth or, three torteaux, for Courtenay; second and third or a lion rampant azure for Redvers (Burke, Bernard, The General Armory of England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales, p 234. , London, Harrison & Sons). These are the same as the arms of the Earl of Devon (not to be confused with the Earl of Devonshire).
