a. In the foreground is the Blessed Virgin Mary, dressed in blue, supported by John the Evangelist, dressed in red. In the background are two of the Holy Women; the figure in green on the left has the words Maria Iacobi … on her nimbus, and the figure on the right has Maria Salome … on her nimbus.

b. On the left, in red, is Mary Magdalene. In front of the cross is an angel, with red wings. There appears to be a figure in blue kneeling at the foot of the cross and, in the background, a figure wielding a knife or dagger holds his victim by the hair.

c. Joseph of Arimathaea, in red, points to the cross. In front of him is a younger man, probably Nicodemus. In the background “Stephaton” holds the sponge soaked in vinegar, and the Roman soldier Longinus, holds a lance.
