Main lights. A contemporary account describes the window thus:
The centre window represents the adoration of the Magi—a subject suggested by the occurrence of Lady Louisa’s death within the octave of the Epiphany. In the foreground are the wise men presenting to the Infant Saviour their gifts of myrrh, frankincense, and gold, symbolic of the three Theological virtues of Faith, Hope and Love. In the background is represented the appearance of the angels to the shepherds, recalling the events of Christmas, and encircling all is a nimbus of angels in glory, while in the extreme point of the window is the Epiphany star, blending the two events in one ().
