J Polsue, A Complete Parochial History of the County of Cornwall, vol IV p 253 . William Lake, Truro, 1872
as a shield of the Robartes arms, with seven or eight quarterings
and also
Gilbert, CS.

Vol II p 816
J Congdon, Plymouth Dock, 1820
as Robarts, with eight quarterings.
Similar
arms
are the wall of Lanhydrock House, the home of the Robartes family,
and in the
dedication
of Joel Gascoyne’s 1699 map of Cornwall to Charles Bodville, Earl of Radnor,
except that in the latter, the arms of Robartes in position 9 are replaced with what may
be the arms of Robert Rich, 2nd Earl of Warwick,
gules, a chevron between three crosses botonnée or
(Burke 1884 , op. cit. , p 851 )
whose daughter Lucy married John Roberts, 2nd Baron Truro
(Vivian 1887 , op. cit. p 398 ).
In both of these the arms in position 7 are lozengy, or similar, which suggests that the representation
in this window may be inaccurate.
