2 lower. On the left is St Perpetua, dressed in tunic, supertunic and a veil, looking at her baby, with whom she was imprisoned, on her left arm.
On the right is St Lawrence, clean shaven, tonsured and vested as Archdeacon of Rome, wearing a dalmatic of blue and gold. In his right hand he holds the Book of the Gospels, and his left hand supports a gridiron, the instrument of his martyrdom.

CYPRIANUS · MARTYRIZATUR (Cyprian is martryed)
1. The nimbed saint kneels blindfolded by his own hand and wearing a long, white, girdled tunic, waiting for the sword to fall. A Roman soldier holding the sword stands behind him. In the background are a number of onlookers and soldiers, including a youth up a tree. The scene is described in Edward Benson’s book Cyprian: his life, his times, his work, p 504.
