At the top of c is the Star of India, of which order the dedicatee was a Knight Commander. Below it are the arms of Crosthwaite, gules a lion rampant between six cross crosslets or ( ) and the motto Finis coronat opus (the end crowns the work)
In the drawing included with the
Faculty papers and signed by Clayton & Bell, St Michael is shown dressed as a Roman
soldier. A letter dated
from The Revd H Holroyd Mills to the Revd Thomas Taylor, vicar of St Just, states that
The Advisory Committee approved the enclosed design, but considers that in a 15th Century
window St Michael would be best dressed in mediaeval costume and not as a Roman Soldier.

Drawing of the window, signed by Clayton & Bell, included in the petition for the Faculty to erect the window.
