- Notes
-
- Around the edge of the insert is written Stella Maria maris hodie processit ad ortum (Mary the Star of the Sea today proceded to the east), part of the liturgy for the Feast of Corpus Christi which took place on Thursday , the day after the dedicatee died.
- Maker (
Mrs Thornley’s sister
) and insertion date from .Mrs Thornley
was Margaret (Marjorie) Keturah Fulleylove Thornley, the wife of Revd Alfred Thornley, former vicar of Carbis Bay. Joan Fulleylove died in 1947 and Jenkins gives insertion date as 1975, so insertion was either much earlier than 1975 or occurred long after the insert was designed/manufactured. - CG claims patterned glass is 16th century - highly unlikely.
